Sleep under the stars in plush hotel's outdoor bedroom
6/21/2012Sleeping under the stars can be dreamy if you can, you know, see the stars. New York's AKA Central Park hotel is offering the city's first outdoor bedroom, located on its 900-square-foot penthouse terrace on the 17th floor. There's no tent here, but for $2,000 a night you can enjoy a massive bed, wood-burning fireplaces, s'mores, cocktails, a telescope, 42-inch TV and a DVD player with a selection of black-and-white horror films. But there's often a reason something hasn't been invented before. In the city that never sleeps there's light pollution, street noise, sweltering heat and thunderstorms, and thirsty mosquitos. Not to mention all the perverts with binoculars. We'll sleep inside, thanks.
