Don't eat that sausage! It might contain bits of plastic gloves

2/22/2013

No one really wants to know what's in their sausage but ... now you really, really don't want to know. One word: plastic. Packaged meat company Smithfield Packing Company is recalling 38,000 pounds of pork sausage because it may contain bits of plastic, probably from gloves. The massive recall of one-pound packages of Gwaltney mild pork sausage  (use-by date: March 12, 2013, as well as those with case code 78533109741) impacts 11 states — Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas — and the District of Columbia. The recall was sparked by complaints from two consumers. No injuries have been reported, but … yuck. [Source]
