Soda companies cast Michael Bloomberg as 'The Nanny'
6/3/2012He's no Mrs. Doubtfire, but New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn't look half bad as a nanny. Hoping to embarrass the mayor and shame him into rethinking his proposed obesity-fighting ban on jumbo sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces, the soft drink industry today ran a full-page ad in The New York Times showing Bloomberg in full nanny regalia. Above and below the photo-shopped image are the taglines: "You only thought you lived in the land of the free," and "New Yorkers need a mayor, not a nanny." Let's not sugar coat it, but maybe the city needs both.
Do you think the soda ban is going too far?
