When we see our brave men and women in uniform on this Veterans Day, we should always remember the sacrifices they’ve made in protection of this nation's freedoms. Brave though they are, many are also downright mushy (aren't we all) when confronted with a cuddly ball of fur. And often, in stressful field positions, troops will turn to animal companionship to help them keep their internal balance. These pictures, shared on Reddit, may capture chance encounters between these servicemen and animals, but they are a testament to how valuable animal companionship can be, for all of us.
