Fans blast lax security after girl is badly burned by flare at concert

A young woman attending the Soundwave Festival in Sydney was severely burned after a fan lit a flare in the mosh pit. The accident happened during a performance by heavy metal band Bring Me the Horizon; the girl’s forearm was severely burned, police say, possibly when the flare burned plastic that then fell on her. A second flare was also reportedly thrown onstage. Pissed-off music fans blasted both the "idiot" who lit the flare in a crowd and festival security, asking why hula hoops and Frisbees had been confiscated but flares were allowed through.
