Cops use Mace to break up massive high school food fight

2/16/2013

Some high school cafeteria food fights get a little messy — and then there are some prompt the police to come in and break things up with chemical spray. A 15-minute lunchtime fracas Thursday at South High School in Minneapolis was one of the latter. Hundreds of students were involved in the brawl and four people were injured as food, plates, soda bottles and other items flew through the air.  A dozen cops were summoned.  "When the cops came and started spraying Mace it was just pandemonium with people trying to run away," Student Council President Connor Bass told the Star Tribune. It's unclear who started the fight — or why. Maybe someone really doesn't like mashed potatoes served with an ice cream scoop. [Source]
