There are 19 million men in South Korea, and they account for a 21 percent market share of male makeup products sold, spending a whopping $495.5 million last year. South Korean men started paying more attention to their looks in the late ‘90s, and the trend has continued to rise as competition for jobs becomes more fierce in the country with the popular catchphrase "appearance is power."
