Spanish mayor bans burping, nose picking and more
4/7/2012If the mayor of La Toba, Spain gives you a "Courtesy Charter" to follow, he thinks you'd better say "Thank you." Julian Atienza Garcia's list of 65 things he thinks citizens need to do -- or not do -- is leaving most of the village residents with their mouths open (which is, of course, on the list of Don'ts). "It is a compendium of basic rules of politeness that are being lost and not being followed," he wrote. Garcia has banned everything from loudly slurping soup to burping to picking wedgies in public and, OK, maybe we get where he's coming from.
Should the mayor be teaching manners?
