Stranded squirrel suckers six firefighters into elaborate rescue op

Oh, that we all could have the magnetism of this special little rodent. After somehow getting itself stranded on a patch of waterlogged reeds on Sunday, a squirrel in Watford, England, managed to attract such sympathy that someone called the fire department — which sent three fire engines and six firefighters to its aid. Apparently unaware that squirrels actually know a primitive doggy paddle, the crew launched an elaborate rescue mission, setting up two ladders and jumping in the water to coax the critter to shore.
