Squirrel Slam hunting event is driving animal rights activists nuts2/17/2013
This weekend, dreams do come true for the legions of people in upstate New York who have been itching to pump bullets into fluffy-tailed squirrels. The seventh annual "Hazzard County Squirrel Slam" sold out its 1,000 tickets to squirrel-haters yearning for a chance to win hunting prizes for killing squirrels and then brag about the hunt over a dinner. Animal rights activists protested the slaughter as being cruel and a terrible example for children. But have they every seen a squirrel attack a pine cone covered with peanut butter?
