Starbucks is opening a store inside a funeral home
7/12/2012We are alternately fascinated and horrified by a funeral home housing a Starbucks. Robinson Funeral Home in Easley, S.C., has decided nothing soothes a grieving relative like a Venti Caramel Frappucino, and is opening a Starbucks in a wing of the home. Owner Chris Robinson said the home has always provided coffee to mourners, and this is basically an upgrade of that service -- except one that makes him a, we assume, handsome profit. The shop, expected to be up and running by August, will open to the public. No word on whether you can drop in for a latte while a service is taking place.
Savvy business idea or tactless?
