Starbucks has now opened a store aboard this Navy warship

2/13/2013

No nook, no cranny, no corner, no street, no place on Earth, apparently, is out of the reach of the Great Mermaid Empire, otherwise known as Starbucks. Along with funeral homes, this now includes Navy warships. Starbucks has collaborated with the Navy to open the "Starboxer," which is the first "fully functioning coffee shop" serving Starbucks products aboard "a large-deck amphibious assault ship." In this case, that would the USS Boxer (hence the cafe's name). The Navy consulted with reps from Starbucks to create the shop, and baristas also came aboard to train crew members. All proceeds from the cafe will go into the ship's Morale, Welfare and Recreation fund. Frappuccinos aweigh! [Source]
