Small mercy: Bon Jovi's daughter won't face drug charges
11/16/2012Rocker Bon Jovi got a much needed sliver of good news Thursday -- drug charges against his 19-year-old daughter, Stephanie Bongiovi, have been dropped. Instead of thanking her famous dad, the teen, hospitalized after a heroin overdose, owes her strike of mercy to New York’s Good Samaritan 911 law signed just last year. Intended to encourage people to seek help before it’s too late, the law states that anyone overdosing or seeking help for someone who’s OD’d can’t be prosecuted for possessing small amounts of heroin or any amount of pot. Lucky break; Stephanie would have faced a litany of charges stemming from the drugs and paraphernalia found in her dorm. [Source]
