Even after election, Obama campaign is still using Bain to burn Romney

12/1/2012

Because he ran for president partly on his business acumen, Mitt Romney's seeming lack of interest in defending his record at Bain Capital was odd. It became the bane of his bid for the presidency when the Obama campaign used Romney's tenure there in a series of withering — and ultimately effective — attack ads. Count the Obama campaign as equally mystified. Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s deputy campaign manager, told a group of progressive organizers that she and Team Barry were left shaking their heads by Romney’s passivity in the face of the attacks on his business experience, saying she "never understood why" Team Mittens never pushed back.
