Restaurant receipt from nontipping 'single mom' sparks outrage11/2/2012
Tipping and out-of-control parental entitlement are both hot-button topics. Combining them? Explosive. A Redditor has touched off a firestorm by posting a photo showing a restaurant receipt for $138.35 and a note in place of a tip: "Single mom, sorry." Maybe the service was bad? Nope. Another scrawl at the bottom reads, "Thank you it was great." "I'm sure $140 could have gotten you and your kids a week worth of groceries, but instead you spend it on one meal?! For shame!" wrote the receipt's poster. Many commenters were similarly outraged, although one mom blogger suggests the receipt might be "a very awful prank to make single moms look bad." Not exactly heartwarming, either way. [Source]
