7/12/2012Steven Tyler doesn’t want to miss a thing — in the world of rock, that is. Perhaps jaded by the poppy tunes that traditionally inundate the show’s set list, Tyler has announced he is leaving “American Idol” to bring rock back: “I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith. The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass,” he wrote in a press release. This news caught the Twittersphere by surprise, as many speculated that Jennifer Lopez would be the one to bid the show farewell. Regardless, Aerosmith fans (and fans of good music, in general) seem psyched to see the rocker returning to doing what he does best.
