Stolen guitars are a heartbreaker for Tom Petty
4/16/2012Tom Petty is reportedly heartbroken over five of his guitars being stolen from a Culver City soundstage earlier this week. Petty and his band had been practicing in preparation for a 2012 tour that will include stops in New Orleans, Colorado and now possibly one at Guitar Center to pick up new instruments. One of the stolen guitars is a 1967 12-string Rickenbacker, the brand made famous by the Beatles and popularized by The Byrds, The Who and Tom Petty himself, so if anyone tries to sell you a blonde maple Rickenbacker with the serial number GH 3747, know you can return it to one grateful Tom Petty for the promised reward. Or keep it, and break one very famous heart.
What would you pay for your dream guitar?
