Hero strangers lift car off grandma and trapped babies10/7/2012
Strangers leapt into action like heroes in a movie, banding together to save a woman and her two grandchildren trapped under a car. When Elizabeth Castillo, 77, and her toddler grandkids were run over by an elderly driver in Brooklyn Friday, about 20 bystanders rushed over with no apparent hesitation, forming a human crane to lift the heavy vehicle off of the victims. According to witnesses, the driver was driving in reverse, seemed to panic when he felt the impact, and hit the gas pedal, sending the strollers under his car. All three victims are now in stable condition, courtesy of the kindness of random strangers. Well, there you have it — our faith in humanity is restored. (Kind of). [Source]
