Student expelled for out-of-school F-bomb tweet

3/28/2012

Nothing written online is private anymore -- nothing -- and a senior at Garrett High School in Indiana found that out the hard way. Austin Carroll was expelled for dropping some F-bombs on Twitter, although the post appeared at 2:30 a.m., and chances are good he wasn't anywhere near the school at the time. Still, the school stood by its decision, although Garrett High students didn't take kindly to the news and waged a protest which drew police to the campus. Carroll argued "If my account is on my own personal account, I don't think the school or anybody should be looking at it. Because it's my own personal stuff and it's none of their business."
