Student writes his own obituary for a class, is killed 3 months later
12/8/2012Christopher Weigl, 22, had to write his own obituary as an assignment for one of his journalism classes at Boston University's photojournalism master's program. Three months after that assignment, Weigl was killed while riding his bicycle through rush-hour traffic in Boston, lending his assignment an eerie relevance for a life cut too short. In his work, Weigl describes himself as an "avid outdoorsman" and Eagle Scout. And sadly, as the first line of his assignment showed, Weigl had an outstanding sense of humor: "Christopher Weigl, 22, passed away September 5 after protracted complications stemming from obituary writing."
