Parents upset over pics of their daughters wearing burqas in school

The students were part of a geography class at Lumberton High School where an in-depth lesson about Islam was taught. In addition to dressing in burqas, the class was told not to say "Muslim terrorists" but rather "freedom fighters." The teacher — who told the class that she didn't necessarily agree with the material but was required to teach it — said the controversial curriculum was intended to change the students' perception of Islam.
