Telling the truth is good for your health, study says — honestly!
8/6/2012In addition to making your nose longer, lying has other detrimental effects on your health. A study presented recently at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association found that operating without a high level of B.S. is good for you. Researchers studied 110 individuals aged 18 to 71 over 10 weeks and found the less minor and major lies they told each week, the better their mental and physical health was. Even telling just fewer white lies in a week saw the study participants report less mental health complaints such as feeling tense or melancholy, and fewer physical ailments such as sore throats and headaches.
