Study shows the more veggies you eat, the happier you'll be

10/23/2012

It may come as a surprise to those who know the joys of barbecue ribs and corn dogs that the more people chow down on veggies, the happier they are. A study by Dartmouth University and British researchers found that levels of happiness rated on a scale of one to 10 rose with each serving. Folks who gobbled up eight or more serves of veg said they were an average 0.27 points happier than the franks and Twinkies guys. While the researchers can't be sure whether broccoli simply brings joy or if happier people are more inclined to eat right, it may be worth putting down that bacon sundae and snacking on a carrot instead.
