If Buffalo Bills can't score 20 points, everyone gets a free cookie
8/10/2012Maybe it's a reverse psychology thing to inspire the home team, but Subway and the Buffalo Bills seem to be redefining corporate boosterism. A Subway coupon in the game program for the Bills' NFL preseason game against the Redskins last night offered fans a free cookie if Buffalo failed to score 20 points. That's right: The more inept the offense, the better for a fan's sweet tooth. The Bills only managed a pair of field goals, so Subway dumped a lot of surplus cookies, and maybe that was the point. Or maybe the NFL is using replacement marketing people as well as replacement refs. [Source]
Is this brilliant or a badly conceived promotion?
