Subway is testing a tantalizing new Creamy Sriracha Sauce

1/4/2013

In homage to drunk-at-three-in-the-morning dining concoctions, Subway is testing a fiery new condiment — "Creamy Sriracha Sauce." Yes, you could soon be slathering your Five-Dollar Footlongs in the ubiquitous pan-Asian "rooster" sauce, which Subway has blended with some kind of creamy substance that is most likely mayo. The chain is testing the sauce in locations in Southern California, and there is no word yet if the sauce will become a permanent, nationwide menu item. We’re not sure if this means Sriracha is on its way to joining the ketchup-mustard-mayo trinity of condiment royalty, but at the very least, it is now comfortably entrenched with salsa, ranch, soy sauce and the other second-tier condiments.
