Super-hacker kid cracks 259 companies in three months

4/18/2012

Most kids wouldn't know where to begin to break into a major company's computer system, but a 15-year-old Austrian boy has been arrested for allegedly hacking into 259 companies in 90 days flat. The bored teen was apparently trying to succeed in a real-life game where an online hacker forum rewards successful hacks with points and regarded his work as a personal challenge -- and succeed he did. In three months he reigned supreme as one of the site's top 50 hackers out of some 2,000 users. Interestingly, he didn't target any particular kid-related site, but took a scattershot approach breaking into sports companies, tourism businesses and, of course, naughty X-rated sites, tagging them all with the group's signature "ACK!3STX."
