Supermarkets sell meat that hasn't seen light in 19 years
6/14/2012Swedes have been digging into meat that hasn't seen the light of day since Will Smith was better known as the Fresh Prince. According to Swedish news reports, canned meat manufactured in 1993 by meat company Scan Syd has been relabeled by a shady wholesaler to show a use-by date of 2013 before being sold on to supermarkets. The very same batch also popped up in Poland back in 2009. Even then, tests showed the meat -- which has a shelf life of 10 years -- was beginning to rot and had low nutritional value. Tofu-burger anyone?
