Surfer finally gets credit for his record wave, is chill about it5/11/2012
It's been six months since Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara dropped in on a totally massive wave off the coast of Portugal, but the folks at the Guinness Book of World Records have finally named him the new world record holder for Biggest Wave Ever Surfed. The 78-footer McNamara surfed down beats the last guy, Mike Parson, by a measly foot. "I didn't want to get caught up in it all, but ... when they announced my name, I got a bigger rush than probably on all the waves I rode this year," McNamara told PeteThomasOutdoors.com. Now who's going to nab that 79-footer?
