Surfer is reunited with camera that spent a year underwater
5/14/2012Hawaiian surfer Dennis Curry wiped out on a massive wave last summer and said "Aloha" to his watch and borrowed video camera. Last month, Donald Eubank spotted that same camera during a night dive, grabbed it, and -- amazingly -- could watch the undamaged surf footage that was on it. Thanks to some "Hey, do you know this surfer?"-style Craigslist and Facebook posts, Curry was ID-ed as the man in the film and said, um, "Aloha" to the camera after Eubank returned it. "I could have kept it, but that would have given me no satisfaction," said Eubank. "The satisfaction and joy would be in returning [it] to someone I knew would be really happy to get it back." Mahalo.
