Lexus owner charged with banishing wet nephew to the trunk

Susan Marie McCarty had quite the dilemma. Her 11-year-old nephew was soaked from a water ride when she picked him up at Minnesota's Valleyfair amusement park, but McCarty had driven her Lexus there — and we all know water will totally ruin those plush leather seats — so she allegedly made the wet boy ride in the trunk of her car. His dry older sister was allowed to sit on an actual seat but admitted to an "uneasy feeling" about banishing her brother to the trunk. McCarty was caught after witnesses watched the boy crawl into his enclosed ride. She later told officers, who charged her with child endangerment, that she "didn't assess the situation."
