'Doggie in the Window' keeping sleepless woman from counting sheep
2/15/2013Those songs you can't get out of your head? They're "earworms" (a creepy term you'll never get out of your head, either). We've all had them, but Susan Root's curse is a lock for the Annoying Hall of Fame. It's "(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?" and the British school custodian has been hearing Patti Page's voice nonstop for three years. OK, occasionally "God Save the Queen" breaks up the madness, but it's the doggie keeping Root from sleeping and she's been told "I'm probably going to be stuck with this hellish condition for the rest of my life."
