Sarah Silverman's sister arrested for 'balls-out' praying in Jerusalem
2/11/2013Israeli police detained 10 women who were praying at Jerusalem's Western Wall, including comedian Sarah Silverman's sister and niece. Rabbi Susan Silverman and her daughter Hallel are reportedly part of a "liberal Jewish women's group" that meets at the wall every month to pray, but they do it while wearing prayer shawls and skullcaps and singing out loud. Those mundane-sounding details tend to catch the eye of the authorities, because only men are permitted to worship at the wall that way. "So proud of my amazing sister … and niece for their [balls-out] civil disobedience," Sarah tweeted. "Ur the tits!" According to Hallel's Twitter account, they were released after four hours.
