Obsolete heart candy sayings include 'You are gay' and 'Fax me'
2/15/2013Messages you wouldn't have seen on sweetheart candy this Valentine's Day – "You are gay" and "Fax me." Unsurprisingly, these phrases are on the list of retired sayings from NECCO, who make the iconic heart-shaped candy. Also obsolete: "Let's read" (huh?), "Dig me," "Hep cat," "1-800 Cupid," "Cool dude," "Girl power" and "You are late" (is everyone on time now?). But perhaps NECCO was hasty in also withdrawing "Hot cha" and "Saucy boy." Still works for us. Also of note, NECCO apparently thought about a "Pucker up" edition, but their machines often made "P" look like "F". Guess that's why we never saw "Part ways" either. [Source]
