Taco Bell makes it all better for hoax-hit Alaska town
6/30/2012Residents of Bethel, Alaska, were crushed when they learned that they'd been the victims of a cruel hoax: Taco Bell wasn't coming to their fast food-deprived town 40 miles inland from the Bering Sea. When Taco Bell executives heard about the mix-up, the handiwork of a petty feud between a couple of townsfolk, they decided to make it better -- planning a huge feast for this Sunday. From Anchorage, 400 miles away, the company is flying in 950 pounds of beef, 300 pounds of lettuce, 150 pounds of cheddar cheese, 500 pounds of sour cream, and 300 pounds of tomatoes -- enough ingredients to make 10,000 tacos. Looks like the joke is on the jokesters.
