Piss-poor idea? Taiwan asks men to sit down when they pee

If you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and, um, pee sitting down. An Environmental Protection Administration minister in Taiwan, where we guess there must be no ballparks, has asked local governments to post notices in public restrooms asking men to sit on the toilet when they relieve themselves. Stand-up peeing, the EPA suggests, may be the No. 1 reason men’s restrooms are so much dirtier and smellier than women’s restrooms. "We want to learn from Japan and Sweden," the EPA’s Yuan Shaw-jing said. Sweden recently tried to pass a similar measure, and, Shaw-jing notes, "in Japan, we heard 30 percent of the men sit." Which means only 70 percent of the men in Japan have dry bottoms. [Source]
