What the Taliban sucks at: women's rights and the 'bcc' line in emails

11/16/2012

What does the Taliban have in common with your mother? Neither one knows how to use the "bcc" line in emails. When Qari Yousuf Ahmedi, the Taliban's Official Email Commander, forwarded a press release to the group's full mailing list, he mistakenly displayed the email addresses of all 400 recipients in the "to" section. The list of subscribers didn't contain any real surprises: It was mainly journalists, with the odd activist or Afghan warlord mixed in (although the journos whose contact information was exposed weren't exactly thrilled about it). The Taliban reportedly sends out several press releases and emails every day, which makes them only slightly less annoying than Ann Taylor LOFT. [Source]
