Target sells shirts to fundraise for a pro-gay marriage group
6/2/2012In the debate over gay marriage, Target seems hell-bent on pissing someone off. First, the national big box retailer outraged same-sex marriage supporters by donating money to a political group backing an anti-gay marriage gubernatorial candidate in its home state of Minnesota. Now, two years later, the company has seemingly flip-flopped, stocking its virtual aisles with pro-gay marriage T-shirts that promise to raise up to $120,000 to help repeal a gay marriage ban in Minnesota. The T-shirts, which sell for $12.99 on Target's website, feature designs like a rainbow with the slogan, "Love is Love," or words such as "harmony" and "pride." Pretty flip-floppy, Target, but for gay-rights supporters, we think it's a welcome flip.
Do you think Target should be selling these T-shirts?
