Planet that may be habitable is a mere 12 light-years away

12/19/2012

In-laws driving you crazy at Christmas? Don't despair. Now you can move so far away they'll never drop in again. Astronomers have discovered five planets circling Tau Ceti, a star almost identical to our sun, and one of those orbiting orbs is in the "Goldilocks zone" — meaning it's neither too hot nor too cold but just right to allow for surface water, making it potentially habitable. Of course, the planet currently known as "Tau Ceti e" may be a water world, since the scientists don't believe it has a rocky surface, but Kevin Costner already showed us how to survive on one of those. [Source]
