Did America's sweetheart Taylor Swift steal some of her lyrics?
11/3/2012It's time for Taylor Swift to start practicing her surprised face once again. A controversy is brewing that accuses the sweeter-than-the-sweetest-sugar singer of stealing a lyric from an artist she's stated she's a fan of. Astute listeners have discovered that a line from Swift's song "All Too Well" is almost the same as one from Matt Nathanson's 2003 song "I Saw." Tay's lyric reads "And I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to," while Nathanson's reads "And I'll forget about you long enough to forget why I need to." Nathanson has since deleted tweets calling Swift a thief, and while it may be a coincidence, Taylor has in the past performed with Nathanson's lyrics written on her arm. [Source]
