Taylor Swift's Grammy opening sends us to Slumberland
2/11/2013Taylor Swift’s much-hyped opening Grammy number was a couple parts Cirque de Soleil, a couple parts psychologically revealing revenge fantasy on whoever broke her heart most recently and all parts crazy. Surrounded by waaay too many swirling rings of fire and dressed like a ringmaster, pin-thin Taylor threatened a hapless extra racked up on a wheel, promising they would never, ever get back together. Forgive us if in his position we’d be a little relieved. We have to say rarely has a spectacle involving so many torches left us so cold.
