Teacher compares student, 8, to orangutan
7/3/2012Hey, teacher! Leave that kid alone. A teacher at G.D. Rogers Garden Elementary School in Bradenton, Fla., is in trouble with administrators after saying not-very-nice things about an 8-year-old student on Facebook. "I'm fairly convinced that one of my students may be the evolutionary link between orangutans and humans," wrote the teacher, who also ID'ed the kid by initials and grade in a post that was "liked" by other teachers, though not, as one might predict, by the student's mom. "I send my child to school trusting them to teach him. Not to talk about him," the mom told local TV station Bay News 9. Especially not like that, poor kid.
Is it ever OK for teachers to talk about students on Facebook?
