Lawmaker wants divorce to be harder so teen girls don't get sluttier
3/6/2013Iowa state Rep. Ted Gassman felt a rather odd personal connection to a bill making its way through the Iowa House. The bill would make no-fault divorces illegal, and would require couples with kids under 18 to prove a spouse had committed a crime, was an adulterer or had left the family. Gassman’s support for the bill stems from his daughter’s divorce — and the fear his 16-year-old granddaughter was going to turn into a big ol’ ho-bag: "What are the possibilities of her being more promiscuous? What are the possibilities of all these other things surrounding her life that a 16-year-old girl, with hormones raging, can get herself into?” [Source]
