Teen joins Homer Simpson in soda machine rescue history
6/25/2012A 17-year-old boy in National City, Calif., joined a very short list of people, both real and cartoon, who have needed emergency assistance to free their arms from soda machines after attempted thefts. The poor kid must have been desperately thirsty, because he totally went for it, getting shoulder deep in the machine before becoming stuck. A passer-by called police and an elaborate, multi-department emergency rescue ensued, featuring axes, crowbars, a rotary saw and an air chisel, eerily reminiscent of what happened to Homer Simpson in Season 5, Episode 6. Do you think he tried letting go of the can?
Should this kid be punished further or has he suffered enough?
