Teen tells America her teacher is more than just her lover
3/2/2012"He's my best friend," 18-year-old Jordan Powers said of her boyfriend. "I mean, he's more than just a lover." Hearing that L-word fall out of a teenager's mouth can be jarring enough, but the man Powers told "Good Morning America" about is 41-year-old James Hooker, a Modesto, CA man who, until recently, was her high school teacher. Hooker has since resigned, left his wife and three children, and moved in with Powers. The couple is doing the morning talk show circuit, telling America that their relationship didn't begin "until the day she turned 18." But Powers' mother Tammie has launched an aggressive online campaign against Hooker, claiming to have evidence that proves otherwise.
