Brainiac teenage burglars break into police chief's house, cops say

2/15/2013

Note to aspiring thieves embarking on a life of crime: If you're going to burglarize a house, check first to make sure it's not the police chief's. Two Texas teens who allegedly forced their way into the home of Sugar Land Police Chief Doug Brinkley before tripping his alarm — purportedly making off with nothing and later confessing — have learned that lesson a little late. "They just chose my house," Brinkley reportedly said, expressing concern about the teens risk of ending  up "in prison for the rest of their lives." Irony upon irony — Sugar Land was recently named the 20th safest city in America and the second safest in Texas. Maybe, with these kids off the street, it can nab that first-place slot. [Source]
