Teenage financial whiz buys a house in Florida
3/11/2012For a lot of Americans, owning a home is a lifelong dream. For one 14-year-old Florida girl, it's the payoff from her first part-time job: making metaphorical lemonade out of housing-crisis lemons. After tagging along with her real-estate-agent mom to foreclosed homes, Willow Tufano made a small fortune selling the abandoned furniture on Craigslist. After spotting a two-bedroom home that had its price fall from $100,000 to $12,000, Willow pounced, splitting the relatively small cost with her mom. Willow said she intends to buy her mother out and put her name on the lease when she turns 18. Still, Willow may turn out to be the second-most intimidating landlord of all time.
