Egypt issues arrest warrants for Americans over anti-Islamic film
9/18/2012Egyptian authorities have ordered the arrest of Florida pastor Terry Jones (above left) over his alleged involvement in promoting the infamous movie that insulted the Islamic faith and its founder, Muhammad. The film's reported creator, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, is also facing charges, as well as five others who've been charged with "insulting the Islamic religion, insulting the Prophet and inciting sectarian strife." Outrage over the film was linked to an attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that resulted in the death of ambassador Chris Stevens. If convicted, Jones and Nakoula, both currently in the U.S., could face the threat of the death penalty. [Source]
