Montana family allegedly added $70M in fake charges to phone bills
1/22/2013As crime families go, these guys might be up there with the Corleones. Steven and Terry Sann, along with their son and accountant, are accused of adding $70 million in bogus phone charges to the accounts of subscribers to voice mail and electronic fax services. The Montana family owned nine companies — so if you've used Global Voice Mail, HereYou2 or Network Assurance, among others, you'll want to take a very close look at your bill. The Better Business Bureau reports that "hundreds" of complaints were lodged against the Sanns, and warn that many more fake charges may have gone unnoticed. [Source]
