Txt me l8r: cops want your msgs archived for 2 yrs
12/5/2012The Man apparently wants to read your texts. A coalition of law enforcement groups has asked the U.S. Senate to consider an proposal that would require wireless providers to record and store all text messages sent by private individuals for at least two years, arguing that not doing so hinders investigations. In case you were wondering which providers were already all up in your business, as of 2010, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint didn’t keep the content of text messages. Verizon did for five days, while Virgin Mobile did for 90. OMG! [Source]
