That Facebook pic you shared of sharks in a subway isn't real

6/16/2012

Remember that old saying that if something is too good to be true, it probably is? It's usually right on. Take a fake photo that has been shared nearly 20,000 times on Facebook today. It's a two-week old digitally altered image of a flooded Toronto subway station, in which some merry prankster inserted sharks. People, look at the photo. There are security dudes in the left part of the image standing in maybe ankle-deep water. There are legs of commuters clearly visible. The water goes up to the third step of the escalator. And most important: It's a photo of sharks. In a subway station. Sigh ... this is your Internet people.
